Our Story
Advanced Detailing Sofla was founded in 2000 by John Vanderkuyp, a lifelong car enthusiast who turned his passion for cars into a professional craft. From the beginning, John wanted to build a different kind of automotive care business, one where the quality of the work mattered more than the number of vehicles moving through the shop. That philosophy remains at the center of Advanced Detailing Sofla today.
Based in Pompano Beach, Florida, the studio provides paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film (PPF), window tint, and professional auto detailing for luxury, exotic, performance, classic, and enthusiast vehicles. John remains personally involved throughout the process, from inspecting the vehicle and discussing the owner's goals to overseeing the work and completing the final walkthrough.
The shop's one-vehicle-at-a-time approach reflects how John believes high-quality automotive care should be performed. Rather than rushing through multiple vehicles, the studio gives each vehicle focused attention throughout the service. Paint condition, previous work, vehicle use, and the owner's goals are considered before determining the appropriate approach.
Over more than 20 years, that hands-on experience has included vehicles such as a 1984 Porsche 911, Porsche Macan T, BMW M5 CS, GLS, and 2023 Range Rover, along with many other luxury, exotic, performance, and enthusiast vehicles. Working across such a range of vehicles has reinforced the importance of treating each one individually rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all process.
Today, Advanced Detailing Sofla continues to operate from its Pompano Beach studio with the same focus on careful workmanship, direct communication, and personal attention that shaped the business from the beginning. The studio maintains a 4.9-star Google rating from approximately 100 reviews, and John continues to oversee the customer experience and quality of the work.
For Advanced Detailing Sofla, the goal has never been simply to make a vehicle look better. It is to understand what each vehicle needs, perform the work properly, and give its owner confidence in the result.
